Murtaza Institute is beside Saidpur Railway Station. It began as the European Club for British employees associated with the railway workshop, where Indian entry remained restricted until 1930. After Partition it was briefly known as the R. Singh Club and later became Murtaza Institute. It once played a leading role in Saidpur’s literary and cultural life and maintained a library rich in rare books.
